Eight Million Alone Kickstarter

Combining Dramatherapy techniques and Physical Theatre/Dance/Movement exploration Cummin' Theatre will be researching into the field of big hearts lost in the loneliness of urban jungles full of people.

'Cities are places where people come together, hubs of culture and trade – it would seem that if anything, a metropolis is the antidote to loneliness. And yet anxiety and depression rates are higher in urban rather than rural settings'  tells us The Guardian.

This project aims to be constructed in 9 RnD parts, each time exploring with artists and their stories and impressions from from where they live their lives and their relationship with sex, company and substances.

RnD's will be made in Lisbon, Madrid, Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Paris, New York, Tokyo, London and finishing project will be in an European Capital in 2020. Each of this cities will have a solo RnD of 1-2 weeks with a site specific presentation in a crowded public space.  The finishing project will bring together the 8 artists from this 8 cities to explore their loneliness impressions together in a devised work for 6 weeks resulting in a touring production.

WE DO NOT SUPPORT ARTISTS WORKING FOR FREE OR ARTISTS WORKING FOR CHEAP, WE BELIEVE ARTS ARE ESSENTIAL FOR SOCIETY AND IN CONSEQUENCE ARTISTIC WORK SHOULD BE FAIRLY PAID.  This is where you play your part!

Our funding for each part of the project will be used to pay two artists being paid a minimum of one week, £440 a week (The Equity Minimum). This Kickstarter is for the first part of the project in Lisbon. Our goal on this first moment is to collect £2000 so we can work for two weeks. However our minimum is £1000 which would allow us to work together for one week.

Sad 2016. Prince, Rest In Peace.

What is 2016 doing to Music? Can we still trust this year?

We mourn the loss of one of the most incredible artists of this era, and an enormous influence on what we understand as pop today.

Being the ground base for artists such as Lady Gaga and Alicia Keys, Prince delivered amazing music for 57 years. He kept his privacy as a celebrity and made his name based his work only and not on his life published in magazines.

One of the biggest influences in my artistic process, I cry today his loss and promise to keep his legacy alive.

We shall keep you with us Prince.

All my Love,

Fernando
