Fernando is an Performer and Theatre Maker trained professionally Acting, Singing, Dance and Theatre Making. He trained in Oporto - Portugal, at Academia Contemporânea do Espectáculo and Centro de Dança do Porto; and in later date in London at The Urdang Academy and Central School of Speech and Drama.
Some of his professional credits includes;
the musicals Rent, Saturday Night Fever,Little Shop of Horrors, The Rocky Horror Show and The Wizard of Oz;
the plays Punk Rock (as Bennett), by Simon Stephens, Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream (As Puck) and 4.48 Psychosis (as Sarah's AlterEgo).
His West End credits include two productions at The Royal Opera House, Mozart's Diezauberflöte, directed by David McVicar; and Rossini's Il Turco In Italia, directed by Moshe Leiser and Patrice Caurier.
In Film Fernando Mariano collaborated with the director Simone Yang, in As Sardines in the Deep Ocean, and played Eco in Tebas, a feature film directed by Rodrigo Areias.
Out of commercial circles Fernando is the artistic director of a pop-up theatre collective called, Commin' Theatre.
Fernando is a performer, theatre maker and HIV activist. When he is not acting, singing and dancing full out. He is probably reading books, fighting AIDS, playing the piano or trying to convince his partner to get a dog.
