Fernando is a Performer and a Advertising Creative. On the theatre side of things he specialises in Music Theatre, and is currently developing groundbreaking work in in Opera, Theatre and Cinema.
He trained London at The Urdang Academy in Dance and Musical Theatre and at Central School of Speech and Drama in Theatre Making. In Portugal he trained in Acting at ACE, and in Classical Ballet at Centro de Dança do Porto.
On the Advertising side of things, he is very lucky to have been in training for Creative Advertising with the Jolt Academy, and in a short specialism course in Creative Direction at Central Saint Martins. He also runs a project called (un)Finished Works, which a hybrid between a creative agency and an artist collective that produces advertising for a better world.
In performance, some of his professional credits includes;
the musicals Rent as Angel , Saturday Night Fever as Gus, Little Shop of Horrors as Audrey II , Rocky Horror Show as Frank'n'Furter, The Wizard of Oz as Ensemble and Flashdance in which he played the role of Carlos .
His West End credits include seven productions at The Royal Opera House, including Mozart's Die Zauberflöte, directed by David McVicar and Verdi's Nabucco starring Plácido Domingo. In Opera Fernando Mariano also worked with Penny Woolcock in her production, The Pearl Fishers produced by the English National Opera.
Fernando is a multifaceted man, a great hybrid between an artist and a business man.
When he is not acting, singing and or creating his next bit of communications. He is probably reading books, fighting AIDS, playing the piano badly or trying to convince his partner to get a dog.
